Teaching University Geomedi is an accredited higher educational institution founded in 1998. The founder of the University is Professor Marina Pirtskhalava.
The assessment of study process and students’ knowledge is done in accordance with the ECTS system. There are four faculties at the University:
1) Medicine
Medical Doctor’s Program (English)
Degree: The Degree of a Medical Doctor – MD (360 credits)
2) Dentistry
Degree: Doctor of Dental Medicine (300 credits).Residential Program in Therapeutic Stomatology
3) Health Care Economics and Management degrees:
Bachelor of Health Carе management (240 credits). Master of Health Care management (120 credits)
4) Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Degrees: Bachelor of Health Care in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (240 credits)
Master of Health care in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (120 credits)

Precondition for the admission to the Program: –
1) Medicine
Medical Doctor’s Program (English) Admission of foreign citizens is regulated according to legislation established by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. In accordance with the law of Georgia on Higher Education, Article 52, para 3, candidates willing to study for the degree of Medical Doctor in English language program are required to pass English language proficiency test at the University. The goal of the Program: The program aims at providing graduates with necessary development of
Competences, ethical values and professional responsibility, presuming knowledge of theoretical basis of the field, scientific and clinical skills, corresponding with national and international standards for further practical activities.
Knowledge Assessment System
The assessment of student’s knowledge at one-step program of the Certified Medical Doctor, conducted by Teaching University Geomedi, is guided by the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), law of Georgia on Higher Education.
2) Faculty of Dentistry
Faculty of Dentistry offers the Educational Program in Dentistry:
The degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine (300 credits) the faculty has a department of dentistry equipped with all the necessary resources for delivering the program and teaching students. The Department has the phantom laboratory where students gain useful practical skills. The University has its Clinic where students acquire skills necessary for their future professional activities. The Clinic is equipped with modern technologies. The scholarships are granted on a competitive basis. Upon graduation successful students have opportunity to continue their professional activity at the University Clinic.
Residency Program in Dentistry The residential program in dentistry is delivered at the same Clinic. The program of Residency comprises several modules.
3) Health Care Economics and Management
Bachelor’s Degree program: Health Care Economics and Management Academic Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration in Health Care
At the University Geomedi bachelor’s degree is a course of academic study leading to a qualification, the qualification is designed to give you a thorough understanding of a subject. It helps you develop your analytical, intellectual and essay or dissertation writing skills. At the University Geomedi Bachelor’s Degree program lasts for 4 years (8 semesters) and a student has to accumulate 240 ECTS. The calendar for Year divides into two semesters – fall and spring.
